HISTORY
RAROCO Insurance Brokers, Inc. traces its beginnings by founder, chairman, and former president, Ramon A. Roco.
Mr. Roco was initially a life insurance agent who ventured in non-life insurance to complete both the needs of his clients. In the early 80’s he was awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Philippine Salesmen (TOPS) given by the Association Philippine Management Association. This successfully leads him to open RA ROCO Insurance Agency in 1983.
In early 2000, Mr. Roco not only won the individual top sales agent award but also bagged the top agency award for Philamcare then under The Philamlife Group of Companies.
By 2004, the company officially became RAROCO Insurance Brokers, Inc. For Pacific Cross (formerly Blue Cross), RAROCO has been a consistent annual top producer in medical and travel insurance. In the line of motor car insurance, our corporation has been recognized as a high-ranking producer for Philippine British Assurance Corp.
Whether life or non-life insurance, RAROCO Insurance Brokers has been a convenient one-stop-shop for many clients. Many principal insurers, acknowledge and award RAROCO for its yearly accomplishment in top sales performance.
The legacy of RAROCO Insurance Brokers lives on as the torch has been passed down to his eldest daughter, Denise Roco – De Leon, who now presides as president.
PROFILES OF KEY OFFICERS
RAMON A. ROCO – FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN
The opportunity to venture into the insurance industry landed on his lap while at the NFA , and he started out as a life insurance agent who ventured in non-life insurance in order to complete both needs of his clients. Monchito landed in the top 10 passers from the Insurance Commission test and in 1982, he was an Awardee of the Ten Most Outstanding Philippine Salesmen. In the early eighties, he would knock on the doors and ring on the bells of complete strangers. Experiencing rejection on a daily basis didn’t dampen his spirit. Eventually, his persistence successfully lead him to open RA ROCO Insurance Agency in 1983. In the early 2000, Mr. Roco not only won the individual top sales agent but also bagged the top agency award for Philamcare then under The Philamlife Group of Companies. By 2004, the company officially became RAROCO Insurance Brokers, Inc. The Society of Triple I (Independent Insurance Intermediaries) is a non-stock non-profit organization founded by Mr. Roco originally in 1986 but was called GIAAPI. The organization aims to unify brokers and agents for the improvement of the insurance industry. It is the certifying body for certified insurance professionals, and assisted in drafting the 2013 Philippine Insurance Code.

DENISE ROCO-DE LEON – PRESIDENT
Denise was Head PR specialist for defunct events and PR firm, RPA & Communicate in 2007-2008, managing events and writing lifestyle and business press releases. She was senior writer of lifestyle magazine, PeopleAsia from end of 2008 to 2011, and still contributes to the said publication. While in PeopleAsia, she wrote the scripts for their three major yearly events – Men Who Matter, Women of Style and Substance and the most prestigious People of the Year Awards. Denise was part of the editorial board that handled SM’s Generations: 50 years of serving millions commemorative book. She has also been a contributing writer for several broadsheets such as The Philippine Star, Manila Times and Manila Bulletin, as well as magazines like Philippine Tatler, Health Today, Mom’s Today, Rogue, Esquire and online sites such as Spot.ph and Drinkmanila.com.
From 2011 to 2012, she was Events & PR officer for Rustan Commercial Corp. – handling the Cosmetics, Perfumes & Toiletries Division. She organized all consumer and press event launches and workshops, media requests, pullouts, as well as executing promos and disseminating info to all press. She handled about 20+ brands in the entire C & T Division.
A multi-faceted busy bee, Denise is a certified teacher in several styles of yoga including Yin, Laughter and Hatha. But has found her true calling as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher. She is also a certified Sound Healer under Swami Chaitanya Krishna of Golden Temple Singing Bowls, Nepal. Currently, she is taking her LeveL 2 Kundalini training. In her spare time, she squeezes in her services as a tarot and angel card reader, and as a Reiki healer. But managing her family business full-time, remains her top priority.
She began as sales officer for Raroco Insurance in 2013, then soon after was given the opportunity to use her skill set from corporate training in Rustan’s and apply it in the office handling operations. With her mother leaving the Admin & Finance position vacant, she stepped in and became VP for Admin and Finance and VP for Sales and Marketing in 2014. In 2019, Mr. Roco passed the torch down to his daughter as President. Aside from being President, she is also our Corporate Governance Compliance Officer and AML Compliance Officer.
RAMON HIDALGO – VICE PRESIDENT
His first job was with PHINMA as part of the Treasury Group, moved on to Merrill Lynch Philippines as an Account Executive/Financial Consultant responsible for servicing and advising clients on their international investments including the NY Stock Exchange. He then dabbled a bit in the local stock market when he joined Citisecurities. He also did some real estate brokering before finally joining RAROCO in August 2001.
He has found his calling in the insurance industry, enjoying the responsibility of familiarizing himself with the various insurance products and ensuring that the clients get the best coverage in terms of benefits and pricing. He is now RAROCO’s specialist for providing companies with their medical/hmo and group life requirements. He has a team that supports him in achieving these objectives.
He continues his sports activities by engaging in weight resistance training at his home gym with his two sons.
ERNA ROVERA - SANTIAGO – VICE PRESIDENT OF ADMIN/HR & SALES
She first pursued a career in Administration and Finance with Aden Services as the Admin and Finance Assistant and Executive Secretary of the Country Manager for 4 years overseeing operations for up to 3 projects in Facilities Management in Masbate Gold Project, Mankayan Benguet and Sagittarius Mining simultaneously. She then showed her mastery in sales joining a BPO company last 2014 hitting sales targets on flight ticket reservations. She finally joined RAROCO Insurance Brokers, Inc. as Admin and HR Manager showing excellence in managing people and company operations last May 2014.
She found passion in managing employee’s and touching people’s lives by updating company protocols and processes for betterment of daily operations. As the Admin and HR Manager, she made sure that all guidelines set are being met including management of the sales team. She is now the Vice President of Admin, HR and Sales – overseeing swift operations of multiple departments within the company. She is also the Corporate Secretary of the Board and the current Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the company.
